  • I would try giving her adult food. At this age my children were eating things like fruit and vegetables that we would eat. I would make carrots or potatoes and make sure they are soft. Then just cut them up into tiny pieces so she can pick them up.

  • Have you tried making some home made food? Something a little more hearty? at around 7-9 months you can make her some chicken/fish with veggies and put it in the food processer. They have some good baby cook books out there.

  • No. Her body is not ready to digest anything else yet. How much and how often are you feeding her now? If she still seems hungry, give her a little more. My son is breastfed. We nurse before we give him baby food and then we nurse after he eats. Try giving her a little formula before she has food and then top her off with more formula.

  • she has the right age for solids...

whatever you cook, you can give it to her as well. just put some of it away for her before you add spices. if she cant chew it yet, then throw it in the blender for her ;)

  • The issue at that point is choking, which is why you do "baby" food. If she's always hungry, try to give her more formula, as that should still be the main source of nutrition for her.

  • What are you eating? Give her diced up pieces off your plate.

Sit her down for her meal. Give her some finger/table foods and see what she does! Have her bottle/sippy available with her formula with the meal (you drink with your meal, don't you?) Offer some baby food if you wish, but as mentioned before by another poster, the bulk of her nutrition is from formula until she's on all table foods.

All three of mine were on table foods at 9 months.

  • My dd did table foods at that age. Make sure she can handle gumming something...I steamed carrots to absolute mush and cut them into little pieces. Also potatoes, peas, really, anything that will squish easily should be OK as long as she gets how to swallow it. Start slow.

  • have you tried some of the junior foods? They have a little more substance than first baby foods, but not so much spices or big chunks as adult food.
