How do I go about homeschooling in Atlanta, Ga? Are there any homeschooling groups in Dekalb/Rockdale county?

I am pulling my daughter out of her school and I have been researching the Abeka curriculum or more so pricing my materials. Any guidance in this new realm for me would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have you been to the link www.hslda.com?

It may help you out! I homeschool my 15yr old son and I live in TN. Best wishes.

  • I agree with Southerncharmes: check out HSLDA. They can tell you the requirements for homeschooling in your state.
We've been homeschooling for 9 years. I have used Abeka for a few years if you'd like to discuss the curriculum with me.

The above links are for Goergia state homeschool laws.  Always good to compare a couple sites to be sure.  You also don't have to buy a prepackaged curriculum if you don't want (or don't feel the need) to spend that much money.  I make my own curriculum and use nationwide curriculum standards to help guide me.  Here's a link if you're interested in that...
