Whats a fever for a 5 month old. And how do I treat a cold?

  • My pediatrician doesn't get worried unless the fever gets over 102. I hate that though cause fevers really scare me. Since your baby is only 5 months, I would just give baby Tylenol every 4 hours and see if that helps it come down. I don't think you are supposed to give a baby under 6 months Motrin. Also, make sure the baby stays hydrated. Call your doctor if the Tylenol does not get the fever down. Really though, there is not much else you can do for a cold in a baby that young.
