After Ovulation/Implantation.

How long after ovulation are you supposed to take a pregnancy test? How long after ovulation would possibly see implantation bleeding if any?

  • The first day of your missed period is when your hcg levels would/should be high enough, otherwise you could get a false negative.

  • Ovulation generally takes place on CD 14 & implantation around a week later, women are often shocked to hear that its actually a week later & as such, many take tests wayyyyy too early.

    As always, testing on the day your period was due or after is preferable, but understandably that can feel like a long time to wait when hoping for concieve... Some tests can be used sooner, (with varing degrees of accuracy), i believe one test can work upto 5-6 days before your period is due. But if you read the packet you will see that the longer you wait the more accurate the result. False positives are extremely rare, but false negatives are all too common leading to further testing at a later date - all in all its better to wait at least till the day your period is due.
