  • I had a vaginal hysterectomy in 2006 (46 years old) due to a prolapsed uterus due to a 10 lb baby born in 1992 using forceps. I have not had any problems with recovering from it. Hospital stay was 2 days and was up and moving slowly right after. Felt really great within 4-5 days and have not had any problems at all. I still have my ovaries. Periods, of course, stopped which was great and I have yet to have any symptoms of menopause. The only thing that I may need to deal with is a prolapsed bladder since the vaginal walls have weakened. Only time will tell.
