scared fish

ok my fiance has 6 fish and when ever he turns the light on in the tank all the fish run and hide underneath anything. whats wrong with them?

  • It's normal. It's probably more of the movement and vibration of him turning on the fish tank light that makes them scatter. Ours would do the same thing if you touched the tank or bumped it.

  • That is their normal behavior to hide from they precieve may be a predater.

  • They're having the same reaction to light as you would if someone turned on the light in a dark room: you'd shield your eyes or squint! Since they can't do either, they try to hide until they adjust.
