  • When looking at reviews, remember that a lot of times "good schools" are labeled as such because of the state test scores. That's not always a positive thing.

    The ISD I attended for most of my school years is a "5 Star School" --- very high test scores. Roughly translated, that means they don't actually TEACH anything but how to pass that test & get the school more money.

    The other highschools I attended were not even remotely considered "good schools", BUT I learned FAR more in those schools than I did in the "5 Star" one because they didn't teach to the test --- they just taught & made it fun.
