Where can I find small underwear for a skinny 2 year old boy?

I'm gathering supplies to potty train my 2 year old but I can't really find any underwear that fits him! He's a little tall and skinny and the 2T (or 2T/3T) sizes are too loose, but I can't find any smaller size. So far I've only really checked Target, Walmart, OldNavy and Amazon, and they don't seem to even carry anything smaller than 2T. Is it there and I'm just not seeing it? Where else can I find briefs for skinny boys?

I guess if necessary he can wear the 2T since they don't totally fall off him, but it would be nice to have underwear that doesn't bunch up weird because it's too big. I figure he's more likely to be excited about potty training if his fancy new underwear is comfortable. Thanks for the help!

  • I had the same problem. I bought the smallest underwear I could find and then I took my sewing machine and just sewed in about 1/2 inch on each side. It worked great!

  • Gerber brand runs small, but good luck - I remember going through this with my 2nd.

  • Have you tried ordering from sites like Etsy? They can make custom pairs for you to fit your child. My kids are potty trained BY 2, so they need smaller pairs as well : )

  • Thanks ladies. He's decided he definitely isn't interested in potty training right now, so we're going to give it a break for a while. Maybe he'll fill out a bit in the meanwhile? If not I'll give Carter or Gerber brands a try - I suck at sewing so unfortunately that's not a good option for us. :)
