How to keep coffee filters from collapsing?

For the past week or so every day that I make coffee it has grounds in it. This grosses me out. I've found out that the problem is that the filters collapse in the basket. Is there any way to prevent this? Would one of those "permanent" filters work?

  • try wetting the basket and then putting the filter in. the water will keep it in place like glue. The permanent ones work well ..but stain. IMO they change the taste of coffee.
