How to self induce labor...

I know there really isnt away to self induce labor unless your body is ready. Anywho, Im 4 cm dilated and Id like to know some ways to help me go into labor. Any suggestions???????

  • Walking...nipple stimulation, if you have a pump then use it. SEX, I have heard that pinapple works too.

  • I got some strange visuals with that pineapple comment..

    Semen has prostaglandins - the same stuff they use to soften your cervix, start contractions and induce labor.

  • SEX SEX SEX SEX! as Serafyna said with the sperm. For me, I just went into labor everytime my hubby called from Iraq. I actualy told him he had to stop calling me for a while lol.

  • none proven: sex (sperm acts as prostaglandin to cause contractions),walking,spicy foods, nipple stimul.

  • Sit and bounce on an exercize ball----never worked for me but I heard its suppost to help! Nothing I ever tried helped.....

    Blue and black cohosh
    These herbs are used often to induce labor. They may be particularly effective if you are having weak or irregular contractions. Blue cohosh is believed to make uterine contractions stronger, while black cohosh may regulate the contractions. Together, they work to make contractions more effective. Unfortunately, no studies have determined that these natural treatments are safe, or whether all versions of the herb available for purchase are of equal potency. Be sure to discuss any herbal treatment with your practitioner before attempting it, to see if it is a good idea in your situation.

    Nipple stimulation
    Some women massage their nipples as a way to induce labor. This stimulation brings about the release of oxytocin, which is the natural form of pitocin. Oxytocin causes contractions, which sometimes evolve into labor.
