  • Yes, at a certain age, it is. You have to make sure they are old enough for it though, don't make a 1 week old cry it out.

  • It's completely dependant on their age and your personal preference. The Ferber Method ("Cry-It-Out") isn't recommended before 4-6 months of age. And we never did cry-it-out and never had problems with our son and him sleeping through the night

  • Never. Babies cry because they cannot talk.

  • yes babies cry because they cannot talk but they also cry because they can manipulate you into getting their way. Don't let a 0-6 month old cry it out. even up to 9 months is iffy. But after that, it is okay. Try letting them cry it out for 5 min, then 10 min. If a toddler, you can let them cry up to 20min. Just keep checking on them to make sure that they aren't in pain or doing anything they shouldn't be. But always remember that YOU are the parent. Sometimes we have to make heartbreaking decisions in order to take the control back.

  • My son is 5 months old and he usualy cries because he doesnt want to sleep when he feels sleepy. He rubs his eyes when hes fighting his sleep. He usually cries for like 8 minutes and then goes right to sleep..If he cries more than that, there something wrong with him, like gas, poop, or he just wants to be held or played with. :) I've figured my son out by now.

  • what i do is i lay him down and after 5 min. i go back and tell him i love him give him a hug lay him back down and tell him goodnight and repeat. That lets him know i am still here.
