What's the best way to get rid of a hangnail?

On a pinky toe. Hurts so bad and always comes back!

  • Cut it off with nail scissors so it doesn't get pulled on, then wear a band-aid on it every day for a couple months to protect it while it grows in. Pay special attention to any shoes or sandals that may be rubbing and causing the split (when I had that happening, I discovered that one pair of my sandals was the culprit.)

  • I go to the nail salon and have them dig it out. The last one I had hurt so bad it became infected. If they or you cut it in a weird shape then hangnails easily shape. It sucks, they hurt but they can be fixed. Also, Epson salt helps with a bowl of hot water. Put your foot in the water as the Epson salts clear out anything that is in there.
