has anyone tried black cohosh to help with labor?

i was advised by my midwife. just wondering what your experience was? how long did it take you? any info would be much appreciative!

  • Yes I have. Unfortunately for me I wasn't dilated enough for it to work. I did start having contractions but my body just didn't want to go into labor. I took it for a couple days. Then I was induced lol.

  • it wont work if your body is not ready. I wouldn't recommend it before 39 weeks...

  • yeah i have heard it can ripen the cervix and bring on contractions and if you are already having contraction it will help regulate them. its often used with blue cohosh but i dont want to use that.
