I just heard we had to do taxes on our stimulus check! why? does anyone know about this?? (oh and i forget how much extra you get for having a baby?)

  • Newsflash....ALL income is TAXABLE!!!!

    Technically this includes things you sell at a yard sale, tips, "under the table" jobs, etc... Sorry! But there is no such thing as TRULY getting something for nothing!

  • When the checks went out it was stressed that we would not have to pay taxes on them but we would have to list it on our income tax forms.  Of course, the government could always change their mind on that but as far as I know that's what you have to do.

  • You're not paying taxes on the stimulus payment. However, you should file this year in case they do something similar later in 2009 and yes they will ask if you got the stimulus. If you've had a baby since you got it, you'll get an additional $300.

  • I got the info from a friend. not sure where she got this info from. that's why i decided to ask. so we don't have to do taxes on them? great, thanks!

  • see page 6. It wouldn't copy correctly. It is not income this year. You will not pay taxes on it.
