Why the personal questions?

I've seen a bajillion posts these last few weeks about how much everybody spent on Christmas and asking how much you have in savings, or the rate on your mortgage. I think it's kind of gauche. Do people really sit and talk about their money like that?

  • I think people are trying to figure out if other families are in the same position as they are. Its no big deal.... just answer anonymously.
