Didnt realize they were so expensive.

My daughters are wanting a King charles cavalier Spaniel for Christmas. Our neighbors have one and they LOVE her and she plays so well with them. So i have been searching and all the ones i am finding, relatively close to us are so expensive. What is another breed , that will play well with children and doesnt get too large. Wanting to keep her in the house.

We have a french bulldog and two mini daschunds...they are all extremely good with our 15 month old. Dashchunds are cheaper than bullies of course as we paid just over $1000 for our bullie and $500 for our dachshunds.

A Siberian Husky. They are well mannered, easy to train, and awesome family pets.... We have one, and no we didn't buy her, we found her on a trip we were on, and she is the best dog for kids.. She loves everyone, and is just the sweetest. She is 50 lbs, and may seem big to some, but she's really not. Well not compared to our 100 lb German Shepherds.....

Cocker Spaniels stay about that size too, and are usually pretty great dogs.

blue heelers are great with kids and only get about 40 pounds. They need room to run so a big backyard is necessary unless you will be taking lots of walks, border collies are also wonderful with kids, we have had ours for 7 1/2 years and he & DD are the best of friends. Before spending a bunch of money on a dog from a breeder though, why not check out Craigslist and your local shelter?

We have a Cavalier King Charles mix. She is the same size and has the same sweet nature as most purebreds. The biggest difference is the shape of her nose. We got her from the local shelter for $25.

Why not go to the local pound and see what they have. Good dogs don't have to be pedigrees..."mutts" need homes too :)

Yes, that is a very expensive breed of dog, right up there with the Yorkshire terriers. If you like that breed, don't settle for anything less.

You could find people giving away puppies on craigslist. Not all of them are back yard breeders. Some just want good homes fir their pet before they surrender to a shelter. I saw a king Charles on craigslist for free last week.
