How does the US Government impact families.

Helping my daughter with a government assignment. We have come up with 34 ways the Gov. impacts families but need help coming up with more. We have the common ones like welfare, child care, courts, employment and transportation. any ideas you have would be great. Even if she has them already your imput would be appreciated

  • how about the military family? Like multi deployments, not enough providers for PTSD and TBI's

  • Military families: i.e deployments
    state standardized testing in schools
    health care, or lack of health care
    Patriot Act
    The Bill they are getting ready to pass to not allow goodwill and salvation army to sell second hand clothing for children under thirteen without testing the material for led. That will be Feb 10
    Income Tax/Taxes
    Regulations for workers that work with mentally disabeled or elderly
    Legal Assisted Suicide in some states (Washington)
    Funding for sex education in schools(generates discussions in the household)
    Grants for College
    Programs like CPS that regulate care for children
    United States postal service\
    Free Trade regulations
