  • Tummy time is good for babies from 1 month on I believe- as long as you are there to watch everything will be fine. Don't be suprised if your baby doesn't like it at first (though some babies do like it)- just keep trying as this is how they learn to roll and build stronger neck muscles. :)

  • It's time for tummy time when your baby can support the weight of their head. i.e. when it's not wobbling around on their shoulders.

  • Umm I don't know where the other women got their info but babies should spend at least 1 hr on their tummies as soon as they are born. That's how they develop the muscles they use to lift and turn their heads. Tummy time can be as simple as resting on your chest. It's great to do it while they are awake and alert. Try putting some toys in front of them to encourage reaching and turning as well. Some babies don't tolerate it very well at first but always try new things and stick with it! Good luck!

  • Right away! I would start with laying baby on your chest and seeing how s/he does with the head. Some babies can't do anything on the floor for awhile, some are ready to go right away...all depends on head control!

  • They "can" start tummy time from the get go. They won't really play until they're older, but you'll have less of a "battle" if you start early.
