what do u use to make turkey gravy, baking powder or cornstarch

  • I usually disolve the cornstarch in some warm water and then slowly add it to the boiling gravy to thicken... (This keep the lumps from forming :) )

  • cornstarch or flour. Flour will get lumpy really fast so ad little bits at a time if you use it.

  • I do flour too. It is hard for me to deviate from a recipe and that is how I was trained :)

  • Whatever is in the gravy mix packet. My husband doesn't like gravy made from scratch. I'm ok with it because I'm too lazy to do it anyway. :)

  • I use cornstarch because it doesn't have to be cooked to get rid of a 'flour-y' taste. It's good to go as soon as it's thickened.

    I've never heard of using baking powder before. I wouldn't chance that a bit.
