Is it ok to take a bath(warm not hot) when you are 8 months pregnant?

I am 8 months with twins and having back aches. I know it isnt back labor and was just wondering if it was safe for me to take a warm bath. For some reason I thought I read somewhere it wasnt safe at the end of pregnancy. Thanks!

  • Yes it is ok~ they used to believe it could lead to infection, but have since found out it is not true. Water too hot though is known to induce contractions (but you already said not hot, so you know what you are doin!)

  • It's ok as long as your water hasn't broken and the bath water isn't too hot. Enjoy!!!

  • As long as your water hasn't borken, go for it. Every doc, midwife, and lamaze coach I saw during my pregnancy actually recommends it. It is a great, and natural way to relieve muscle tension.
