Baby slept fine until NOW help

My daughter is 9 months old. she has went to bed fine for months now. All of a sudden two days ago she wont go down well for naps or at night. She cries and whines for an hour or more before falling asleep. I let her whine-then i go in-cover her back up give her her pacifier and i say its nite nite time. goodnight i love you...and i walk out.

Has anyone else had this issue? Like i said she has had NO problem going to bed for me or napping. She has been teething for months so i dont think it is that-and shes not sick.

  • Could be a growth spurt. If she's taking more than one nap during the day, try phasing out one of the naps.

  • if i remember right this is around the time my son began cutting out one of his naps (normal). he was also teething a little. he also began fighting sleep (as dh calls it) alot. i adjusted the routine a little - instead of giving him a bottle in the living room when he got tired, i began to take him in his room and close the door, read a book, turn out the lights, and rock him to sleep. also, he began to go to sleep much earlier due to being more active as well as the lost nap. i found it easier to get him to sleep when i tried earlier. also, he started needing more food that i had been used to feeding him. rice cereal 30-45 min before bedtime - not too much milk in the nighttime bottle.

  • Normal stuff. They change sleep patterns. Usually they do it often. She'll change it again.
