baby' first birthday ideas?

we are planning on having a St. Patricks day party for our daughters first birthday since she was born 3 hours after that day. Any ideas for food, decorations, etc.? It will be mostly adults, probably about 20-30 people....

  • Try going to party city or michaels and seeing what they have there. I know they usually have alot for theme parties like that.

  • One year olds usually don't rememer a thing about their parties except what they are told or what they have seen in pictures. The only real suggestion I have is to bake a mini cake (besides a regular birthday cake for the adults to share) and let the child have that cake all to themselves. It's fun to see their reactions and this can be some of the funniest pictures for the scrapbook! Make sure to set them in their high chair with plenty of paper or plastic underneath to catch the crumbs or whatever. Will she just look at it? Poke it? Stick her entire face in it to try to get a bite?
Other than that, refreshments can include green jello (maybe cut into jigglers), green koolaid, etc.
