why is my 2 month old drooling?

he has saliva in his mouth and pushes it out causing him to drool several times a day. i thought the drooling phase comes later? does anyone else's baby do this?

  • All babies drool. Although I suppose he could be starting to teethe.

  • He could be starting to teethe. My son started drooling at two months as well. It might be a few months before the teeth show up.

  • my daughter started to drool more than usual when she was the same age... and just 2 months later those two cute white little things called "teeth" came through :D

  • Right about 2 months is when babies start producing saliva. It doesn't mean they are teething, but...teething at 2 months is not entirely unheard of.

    They drool because they don't know how to swallow it yet.
