As anyone here ever had irregular periods while breast feeding?

I started to get my periods again at three months postpartum. I've had two periods but this month it didn't come. Are periods irregular while breast feeding? I'm now five months postpartum and I was expecting my period a week ago.

PS I know I know I hate these questions too! I'm sorry ...

  • It's more likely to have irregular periods while breastfeeding than for it to be regular, so everything is just fine :) no worries!!

  • I think EVERYONE who's breastfeeding has irregular periods, lol. My son is 4 1/2 months and I still haven't had one yet.

However, unless you want to be pregnant again, make sure you're using some form of protection. You won't know when you're ovulating!
