What To Buy a 4 Year Old Girl For a Gift?

I need gift ideas for a girl's 4th birthday party. Her mom says she's into Dora, Hello Kitty, Disney Princesses and baby dolls. Even with that information, I have no idea what to buy. I have a 3 year old boy so this is so unfamiliar to me. Also, this is our first child's birthday party so I'm not sure on an appropriate amount to spend on the gift. I was hoping to stay around $25, but is that too cheap?

  • Craft supplies is my standard. Neon paper, stickers, stamps, glue, safe scissors, squiggle scissors, beads with pipe cleaners (this is how we do our necklaces & bracelets).

  • I think with that information you have an endless number of possibilities as gifts. $25.00 is VERY GENEROUS. Again, depending on the relationship to the child I keep the gift at about $10.00.

  • I don't have a 4 yo right now so I'm not sure what's even in the stores for that age group, but I generally try to stick to $15 for my kids birthday gifts for friends unless it's a very close friend and even then I rarely go more than $20.

  • Thanks ladies! I think I will try to stick to $20.00 I saw this Hasbro Baby Make Me Better Doll. I think the concept is cute but the doll (imo) looks cheap. Don't know why I'm stressing over this. Is it tacky to include a gift receipt?

  • Disney Princess Baby doll (various princesses) (about $10)

Disney Princess Doll (various pirncesses, 12.75 inches tall) (various prices)

Those are two things that my 4 year old says she wants every time we walk by them. She's 4.5 and a tomboy.

  • go and get her some Hello Kityy stuff,, or go and get her a princess crown, boa, pretend high heels, and jewelry, just bought an entire ensemble at wal-mart, for about $20,, I think $25 is plenty to spend.

  • I would do one of the Disney Princess barbie doll looking things. I think Target had them for about $9 on sale the other day.
