S/O Catholics don't love people because they wont donate to PP...

Curiosity if I said this would it be accurate? I am switching some thing some one said in another post around a bit to put the shoe on a different foot. I do not believe this so don't get me wrong. I do feel the are misguided but would never say they don't love people. However in another post it was said the OP obviously did not love people because she was making it aware that an organization supports some thing she disagrees with, and was saying that she didn't feel they deserved you money because they support this. Well isn't that the same as catholics saying that PP is horrible all because they either educate or for some clinics assist in some thing they disagree with. So in retrospect would either comment be true?

  • I don't think that's true at all.

I think the Catholics hate choice. I think they hate personal responsibility. I think they hate not having control over people's reproductive lives.

  • Neither comment is true. Catholics, as a general whole, love people and are very giving and charitable. They do not support organizations that disagree with their religious tenets. Which is their right. A right I would help defend to the death, even though I'm not Catholic.

In the same vein, I have no problem with someone not giving to the Catholic church because they disagree with their practices. I don't give to them myself for that very reason. No different for Salvation Army or any other organization. I only wish we had that ability with our tax dollars. :)

  • I've always thought Christians were supposed to love all people, not all medical clinics.

A business is not the same thing as a human.

  • I see your point. There are people that do think that Catholics don't like or respect women. Farthest thing from the truth. The Women's Care Centers do help women with medical care for free. They also have the best crisis pregnancy center for young women that have been kicked out because they want to have the baby instead of having the abortion that their family wants them to have. Also at the care centers they have a "shop" that we donate things like diapers, clothes, furniture, etc. If they collect care center dollars by keeping their appointments get the care they need then they get these things. In some cases they are just given what they need. We fill the need that PP doesn't. We even care for those that have been traumatised by abortion. The women that regret it, were forced or thought there wasn't another choice. The men that would have taken the child but they didn't have say, through Rachael's Vineyard.

  • Just so you know the person who was said not to love people was not really about donating to a catholic charity just a charity that stands for some thing they can not agree with. This was just the first analogy I could think of.
