  • For the perfect welcome home be there to greet him with a big smile and kiss and hug. Let him enjoy the excitement and let him get over the trip. Then like the next day or the day after, when he has relaxed from the fun of being home, ...what does he like? A quiet dinner in a nice restaurant? A walk along the water? A ball game? Having the guys over and watching football on TV with chicken wings and pizza? Cuddling in the evening watching a movie and eating popcorn?

  • Renting a bed and breakfast in your town. Expensive? Yes but well worth it. They serve great food, a bottle of wine, a room with a fire place, snuggle up by the fire...see what sparks fly. OR just rent a hotel room and have breakfast, lunch, and dinner served in bed. Have a massage therapist give a professional relaxing massage, have him relaxed and drive him home, have his favorite meal, and get him settled in to his home. Maybe new sheets on the bed, a new robe, new aftershave, soap, ect...a little care package at home waiting.  Or since he is in the army a Thank You and Welcome Home party (if that suits his personality) to surprise him with.  Either way - you are probably the biggest welcome home gift he could get.  That and if he has children.
