Do eggs really expire or just run out?

I mean women's eggs, and my thought process is this: Some birth control stop ovulation, so the egg is not released. Would this prolong a woman's fertile years or will the eggs expire at a certain point in the woman's life regardless? I have this distinct feeling that I should know the answer already, but I don't.

  • You have thousands of eggs, they never run out. Your body uses the good ones first and as you age your eggs health deteriorates. Eventually you stop ovulating...there's no certain age, it's all hormonal
