How much formula should a 9 month old be drinking

ALysha is drinking about 5 ounces every 3-4 hours aprox 30 ounces a day. She doesn't always drink the full 5 ounce mostly after she has eated solids.
Is this too much??

  • NONE dont you know she should be drinking breastmilk LOL no seriously. My daughter was on table food by then so she only had 3 6oz bottles a day right before naps and bedtime. I think what your doing is fine just as long as she is getting solid food too.

  • Define "solids". If it's baby food, she should still be drinking the normal amount of formula (according to our pediatrician) but if eating table foods, she could drop the amount down to about 24oz and still be normal.

    It differs for each kid, though...

    If she's taking it and not spitting it back up, it's fine.

  • Every baby is different with the amt of food they need, but between 24 and 32 oz sounds about right. If she is also eating baby foods, then 24 should be fine. If she isnt rejecting the food or spitting up, I wouldn't decrease though. Gerber has a really good chart on how much babies should eat at different stages.
