  • After delivery, you will look like you are 6 month pregnant. You have to give your uterus time to shrink after it's been stretched out from the baby. Nursing burns a lot of calories, but you have to drink a lot in order to produce milk.

  • With my first pregnancy I was able to nurse after I had her and it dropped off me a bit quicker than I thought it would. But this time with my son, he would NOT latch on at all so it's been harder. Luckily, I didn't gain too much this pregnancy as I was off my food.

It'll take some time for your uterus to shrink again and you will look almost bloated for the first few weeks, but as someone mentioned before me, nursing can aid your weight loss

  • With my first son I didn't BF but I can assure that I lost the weight in less time than when I BF my youngest. I think that it is more about being active and getting exercise and eating right. And we shouldn't forget that every metabolism is different.

  • After my first, I didn't lose weight very fast. After my second, I was down 15 lbs Prepregnancy within 2 weeks. I only gained 20lbs during the pregnancy. So 35 lbs lost in 2 weeks! It was awesome!

  • I was still pretty bloated for a few weeks with my first. My second, I'm not even 2 weeks postpartum, and I'm a little puffy. I don't know how much I lost right there in the delivery room with either, but all of my research says it's an average of 12 lbs. or so. (Baby+plecenta+amniotic fluid) My legs and feet were pretty swollen for a few days after my second was born, but the nurses said a lot of that was because I had a c-section, and wasn't able to get up and move around much. Once I was up and walking, the swelling went down pretty quickly. My hands feel less swollen, though I haven't actually tried to put my wedding band back on yet. As far as breast feeding making you lose weight quickly, it really depends upon the person. I didn't lose much weight at all with my first, and she breast fed for 17 months. And yes, I ate well. I feel like I've lost a lot with this one, but I haven't stepped on a scale, so I'm not sure.

  • I immediately dropped 20 pounds when my first was born...I'm talking like the minute he came out. Even though the scales said the weight was gone though, I still looked pretty squishy and "doughy" for a couple weeks.

  • With my first, I had been so swollen that I lost 26 pounds the first week after I had my son, mostly fluids. With my second, I didn't lose much weight at first (I am still having trouble losing weight and he's 6 years old now). I wasn't nearly as puffy during my pregnancy with him though. Both were breastfed.
