We are finally going after 3 years of trying with no success, but just one question.........

what will they be doing on the first appointment with a fertility doctor? We've been TTC for over 3 years now, and we finallydecided to go to the doc. Our first apt will be on Wed. 1/28/2009.
Weve been talking to him about doing IUI.
So any information will be great. Thanks :-)

  • They'll evaluate both of your health histories. They will run blood tests on you for sure, and possibly your husband. Nothing major happens at the first appointment. Good luck.

  • they just talk to you and get your history and stuff like that...they may take blood for tests. then they'll make a plan up for you and you'll start meds/treatments. later when you go they'll do ultrasounds all the time...not my favorite thing, but you actually kind of start getting used to it! the funniest was when they charged me $18 for condoms to cover the ultrasound wand! lol
i know the whole fertility treatment thing can be very hard and frustrating, but just hang in there. on our fourth round of iui (and the last try before ivf) we conceived our twins...so keep your chin up! i was really about to lose hope when it happened, so don't give up! good luck to you.
