  • How do you know when?
My son is 6 months and I still only give him 4 oz per feeding.
Their stomachs are tiny and they shouldn't have more than that until they are older.
Also, listen to her cries. She will tell you when she is hungry.

  • My daughter is six months and eats 8 - 12 ounces per bottle three times a day. She also gets two ounces of baby food mixed with a little cereal. If your little one is still fussy after the bottle is gone try making two more ounces. Then at the next bottle give him/her as much as he/she ate at the last feeding. You'll find a happy balance after a few feedings and you'll see they start to eat more less often. Remember, every baby is different. Good luck!

  • if she's still hungry after her feeding then you can offer more, that's how you tell.

  • theres a really handy feeding chart that similac makes, you can get it at your pediatrics office that tells you by age/weight how many ounces the baby needs for a 24 hour period, and then you can decide how you want to break that up. but remember its just a guide and your baby will tell you if he/she wants more!

  • If she still acts hungry when you're done, or acts hungry just a short while later, give her more. Feed on demand. They know how much they can take, they know when they are hungry...and they know it better than anyone else, including US! LOL

My sons each were huge eaters....at 6 weeks they started taking 8oz every 2-3 hours. No, they are NOT the norm!! lol

They were taking at one point upwards of 45oz per day. And their pediatrician was fine with it...they were hungry, they were fed.

  • You give a 6 month old 4 oz. of milk? He doesn't cry for rmore? Do you give baby food? If so, than 4 oz. of milk is ok with baby food.
