  • I started my baby at just about 6 months with baby cereal, which he hated. I moved very quickly to veggies, two times per day - probably about an ounce (half of a tiny jar) per feeding. That lasted for just over a month, then I moved to 2 ounces, twice per day. Then moved on to stage 2 style foods 3 times per day. Then added cheerios. 4 months later he's pretty much entirely on solids for 3 meals and two snacks each day. One bottle before bed and another before his 2nd nap. He also gets formula in a sippi cup with all meals and snacks.

  • I started my son on really thin rice cereal at 4 months old. about 1 tbls in the morning. then, over the next 2 months I thickened it up and increased it to 1tbls 2 times a day. at 6 months I started adding veggies and fruit. However I would check with your Doc before starting a baby on solids.

  • At 6mos I mashed sweet potato with breast milk, she loved it. Then banana with breast milk . At first I only fed her once a day, I wanted to see how she was pooping before I fed her again. Now a month later I give her oatmeal in the morning, sweet potato, carrot, or green beans, for a late lunch early dinner. I'm going to start giving her chicken/turkey soon.

  • We started at 6 months. Nik eats homemade solids three times a week. We stared with carrots, then avocado, and pear. We give solids in the evening, after nursing. We will increase him to once a day at 7 months. and increase from there as he's ready.

  • Check with your doc first but I started both of my kids on thinned out rice cereal at 4 mos. in the a.m. and right before bed, about a tablespoon.  Then gradually start them on veggies and thicker cereal.
