What would you do in this situation?

A friend of mine is babysitting brothers who in the past, as well as recently have had some severe hygene issues as well as being clothed improperly for the weather, as well as being without ANY shoes on occasion.

There have been occasions when the 4 year old has mentioned going without meals.

Recently, the 4 year old went and entire weekend with no bath and no clean clothes and came to the ladies house smelling so bad that she was unable to sit in the same room with him having the door closed.

The 20 month old has recently, beginning on Friday, presented with odd bumps that today are all over his body from head to toe and have turned out to be what we beleive are bed bug bites after some research.

Our question is, morally, these boys are being treated wrongly from what we have seen, but what would you do? How would you address this situation?

  • call 911 when they ar ein her care. If they find cause (physical proof) they may take them right there...If you call CPS, they will probably call the mom before visiting

  • cps will help them get things under control. Until that time I'd be going to the Goodwill and buying them some clothes and shoes and coats and giving them a bath and making sure they are fed. You never know when they will receive their next meal.
