What can i give my 6 year old for constipation

she gets this a lot, but lately it has been were her belly hurts so bad she is crying. I don't know when she went last she just told dh last night that she hasn't gone and can't go. I tried apple juice and all she drinks is water. With sometimes koolaid or tea, but it is usually water I ill only make koolaid once in a while

Lots of OJ and some prunes...if she doesn't go after a couple days, she may need to go to the doctor and make sure there isn't a blockage.

If she won't eat them,make them into a smoothie with OJ

My 2 year old son gets this way after drinking milk, if I give him juice most of the time he is fine. but go with what butterflyblue19 said.

Miralax you can buy it at the Drug Store. It is just a stool softener & causes no cramping. I use it for my Son occasionally. It was recommended by his Pediatrician.

do they have marilax for kids? Or do you use the adult kind? I have the adult kind. How much do you give her? Will it cause her to have diarrhea?

So try it mixed with apple or cranberry juice instead

I bought regular Miralax for my Son who is 4. I give him a little less than 1/2 a cap full. It does not give him diarrhea. It just softens the stool & makes it easier to go. I also give him a cup of Apple Juice every day.

Look at the food your family is eating. Cut way back on meat and dairy. Add more vegetables and fruits (7-8 servings a day, in at least three different colors); replace all white/simple grains with whole grains (3-5 servings a day); add legumes to your diet (1-2 servings a day)
