My DH and I just got back from a meeting with our son's teachers. He's in 6th grade and in an inclusion class (two teachers). He's very distractable and frustrated over the hard work. He is failing. He's not on meds now but was on Concerta 54 mg last year but I was still getting reports that it did not help last year. I thought that if he was in an inclusion class and on no meds. he's do better. He's not. The teachers are afraid that he might give up one day and drop out because of his frustration of failing. I know all kids are different when it comes to meds. I'm just so worried over side effects. Can anyone relate? He was diagnosed in '04.Answer Question

I am also going through the same thing with my 10 yr. old DS. He was diagnosed with severe ADHD and ODD 5 yrs. ago. We've tried Adderall, Concerta (54 mg.) and Strattera which made him a zombie. He is now on Ritalin and in behavioral therapy as well. You can message me if you'd like and maybe I can offer some other suggestions from experience.
