Since when did we adopt a national religion in the US?

I hear people complaining about Obama and his gay bishop. I hear people mentioning the US being a Christian nation. Ladies... there are more religions in this country besides Christianity. There are Jewish people, Muslims, Hindu's, Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, Wiccans, Pagans, Satanists, Taoist, Spiritual... and so on and so on. Christians are not the only ones who matter in this country. We ALL matter. All PEOPLE. HUMAN BEINGS matter.

  • I think we adopted a national religion on April 12, 1897. We adopted a national sexual orientation February 19, 1989 (because homosexuality wasn't invented till the 1980's anyway). We adopted the right to poke our noses wherever the hell we want to sometime late in the year 2001.

  • People are just voicing their opinion. I hear a FEW sqeaky people. No one is suing to change the laws in the US that effect you, right? Is there legislation that might hurt your religious (or lack of) preference? Otherwise, to each their own...

  • There are groups suing to keep religion out of the inauguration. They want God out of everything. It's time we sued them back for discrimination.

How nice to see our courts are tied up with this crap. If Obama were an athiests, then I would sue on. But he isn't. They need to go hug a fricken tree and stop clogging up the court systems.

  • Obama claims to be a Christian. His actions show he is not and he probably should just fess up he is what ever religion the group he is trying to win over at the time. Anyone who thinks abortion is fine and would have a heretic gay bishop pray do anything at his inauguration is not a Christian. I personally don't care just wished he would come clean and not be such a fence rider.  God will spew the lukewarm out of his mouth.  Hopefully Obama has a good surf board.
