1 Bump

Any ideas? unexplained weight loss sweating etc...

It all started back in July when I went to the doctor for getting out of breath just walking down the hall.
So they did a heart ultrasound and said I had a fast heart rate.
Since then I've lost close to 60 pounds (unexplained in a 6-7 month time frame)
I sweat like crazy throughout the day
I've also started getting a constant neckache within the last month
I have a cough and shortness of breath

I've been told its not my heart causing it.
I've been checked for just about everything..TB meningitis thyroid hormones all kinds of blood work has been ran.
I'm 25 and female in pretty good health outside of this (was little over weight after 2 kids but not now)
Any ideas??

  • The shortness of breath could be asthma. Everything else, I really don't know. Maybe an allergic reaction to something you're taking?

  • not to alarm you but you need to have a full body CT if they cant find the reason, I have gone through all of those symptoms- blood work was NEVER an indicator and was not after treatments- I had a rare form of cancer that should have shown up in blood work but didnt and by the time I was diagnosed- 5 years after complaining to many doctors, a ct scan was done for pain in my lower back- and they found numerous cancer tumors. PROBABLY not your case but they need to rule EVERYTHING out....dont stop until they give you an answer.

  • Any rapid, unexplained weight loss is cause for concern. My suggestion would be to get a referral to someone who specializes in Internal Medicine. Something is being missed somewhere.

Question. Have they checked your heart any other way but an ultrasound? I wonder about mitral valve prolapse. Were you taking any sort of diet pills?
