  • i dont see anything wrong with it i mean it sucks if gas prices get higher but if it ends up working and people start using and buying electric cars, wouldnt that help the environment?

  • I won't be able to afford an electric car until they make hover cars lmao. So it would suck for me. But the car companies aren't concerned about the environment, they're worried about profit. I'm sure it would help the environment in the long run, but something tells me there are more people that would be hurt by high gas prices than able to afford a brand new car.

  • I have a 6 yr old truck and its been paid off for 2 years. I'm not looking forward to higher gas prices or having to replace my truck as though it were obsolete.  I am also in no position to pick up new car payments. I hope this never happens.

  • I know it's "long range" thinking, but has anyone thought about WHERE one will go to RECHARGE said battery--or will we be relegated to a 50 mile radius from home? What about people, like salesmen, that drive from client to client daily, and can put upwards of 300-400 miles on their cars? That would impact business/commerce!

Then, where do the spent batteries go...to they join the mercury laden "twisty bulbs" in their own radioactive landfill? WHOSE landfill?!

Short term visions should be given a "one size fits all" approach!

  • gas is already going up. Here in Miami, fl. It has gone up from $1.61 to 1.87 for regular gas. in teh last week and 1/2. so no gas company should not get their wish. not everyone can afford higher gas prices and/or electrical cars.

I think you need to research business/development. Electric Cars won't be cheaper till demand goes up and more are produced. It's Simple Economics.
It took many many years to R&D these cars and just like a new drug, new video game, etc. The prices are higher in the beginning.

  • I don't think they will need to the prices to go up. I hope there are enough people who will buy into the Electric car. I am looking at getting a Hybrid next year, but might hold out for an elctric car.
