  • Kabbalah is NOT a separate religion, it is Jewish mystical tradition. Google Isaac Luria, Lurianic Kabbalah, Chaim Vital (Luria's scribe), and heck, look up Hasidism while you are at it. (Hasidism is similar, but more down-to-earth, feet on the ground, head in the clouds though, I used to study that as well.) Perle Epstein wrote a fascinating book called Kabbalah the way of the Jewish Mystic that has some great basic information. I also would read Sefer Yetzirah by Aryeh Kaplan once you're more fluent in the basics. AVOID anything from the Kabbalah Centre (where Madonna goes) LIKE THE PLAGUE.
