  • You can marinade it in honey and hoisin sauce - very yummy. It's about 4-1 (hoisin to honey). I also cook in oven on top of a stuffing, - saute onions and celery. add bread stuffing (cubes) , dried cranberries, dried apricots (diced), chicken broth. Put stuffing in roasting pan, lay pork on top - bake.

  • i wouldnt cut it in half. i would make the whole thing and freeze the portions you and hubby dont eat that way if you have one of those BLAH nights you can easily pull it out and heat it up. or even take some to work! yum yum!

  • There is a great crockpot group here on cafemom. There is a quick reference guide where you can find all sorts of recipies for a pork roast. I think there was something like 6 pages of them. The group is called Crock Pot Moms.

  • This is what i would do. Put it in your crock pot season it with salt pepper and alittle garlic. Cook it till its done. Pull in apart with a large fork and nife add BBQ sauce. Put it on hamburger buns then you have yummy pulled pork sandwiches. Serve with a salad and homemade fries.

  • Here's a recipe for apricot-glazed pork loin. My boyfriend works at Outback Steakhouse, and he's made their apricot-chili glazed pork loin for me before...it's so amazing, the apricot flavor goes great with the pork.

  • We purchase a large boneless pork loin from the butcher (about 6-7 lbs) then slice part of it into chops and a couple of roasts. Sometimes we slice the chops up like boneless ribs, which we're having tonight.
We rub the chops first w/ a mixture of brown sugar, paprika, garlic, and sage or savory and let sit overnight. then put in the crock pot, drizzle w/ olive oil, let cook a few hours, and when almost done we add BBQ sauce. We're having Cajun sweet potato fries w/ it (slice peeled sweet potatoes like FF's, fry, and when draining cover w/ cajun seasoning, salt and pepper).
Not exactly health conscious.... but nice comfort food.
