Have you ever wanted a different name

Do you like the name you were born with or have you ever wanted a different name?

Well my names Amanda and I don't like it lol I like what it means "Worthy of Love" but the nicknames kill me lol

when I was a kid I hated my name... mainly because there wasn't anyone that had the same name as me. Now I see that it's a good thing. I wanted something like the way my sisters were. Their names are Cindy and Christy and mine is Charla (sounds like Sharla)...so I always got the CH sound when someone would say it... I also got the names of Carla, Charlie, Charlotte, Chara, and a few others. It still aggrivates me when ppl can't pronounce it right or any name... that's one of my pet peeves. lol

not really. in fact, in the recent years, i hardly ever hear it anymore..its always ''jackson's mom'' or ''howard's wife'' or ''mrs. miller''. i just about jump when i do hear someone say my name. lol.

Sure have... I am on of the million Melissa's born in 1977. I always hated having to be Melissa S. because there were 3-4 others in all of my classes. I was named after my great great grandmother and my mother had never heard the name before so she thought it was unique. Well apparently a million other parents thought that too. :D

My name's also Amanda. I got all of those nicknames, plus 'A-man-says-DUH' a lot. Ugh. I hated it.

I don't mind Amanda Panda though. I like pandas, so everyone calls me that anyway, lol.

I've never liked Ann for the countless Annie comments (I have red hair) and everybody pointing out it's their sister/mother/own middle name. People throw 'e' on the end all the time, even when I've worked with them for years.

I was named after my dad's favorite cousin Annie. It wasn't until a few years ago he learned it was her given name. I breathe a sigh of relief he didn't know that when I was born.

I dont hate my name but i wanted to name my dd Mi' Amore and my dh said no that was not a name that it was a phrase. Now i wish i still would have named her that. Do you think thats a weird name?

I used to wish that my dad didn't make my mom chance my name. My name was supposed to be Mackenzie, but my dad made my mom change it to Rachael. Now I don't really care.

Yes, when I was a child I begged and begged my mom to change my name to Justine. Idk why but that name just struck my fancy. NOw, I LOVE my name, b/c it was my grandmother's name, and it's all I have left of her:(
