Unemployment question

DH's company closed for 2 weeks and so they had a short mandatory "lay off". Everyone filed for unemployment for those two weeks, including DH. Anyone we got his unemployment paperwork and he can call today to claim the first check but the dates of his claim is listed as 1/03-1/10, even though it should be 12/20-12/27. Does it matter if the dates are wrong? I'm just not sure if it matters about the claim dates being wrong, it's still for the same amount and everything.

  • You need to call them. Its a paperwork error but he has to apply for the dates he was off. If hes off this week then that could be right. Id call to make sure.

  • It could be because there is a five working day waiting period before you can claim benefits. So if you dh is laid off two weeks, he will only be paid for one by unemployment. Stupid but that's how it works in OH. I'd call unemployment to check, though.
