I cant stop crying so be prepared...grab your tissues

The night before the burial of her husband 2nd Lt. James Cathey of the United States Marine Corps, killed in Iraq, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of "Cat", and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. "I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it" she said. "I think that's what he would have wanted".

-Not sure what is more honorable: Being married to this faithful wife to the end or the Marine standing next to the casket watching over them both.

  • Military stuff doesn't usually make me emotional at all, but that is so sweet.

  • Wow, something so touching for an already rough start to the morning for me. But NOTHING like our troops and their families contend with on a daily basis.

  • Though no one in my family has been in the military, my BIL was killed in 9/11 and we consider those murdered in 9/11 to be soldiers of our country. Anything military makes me cry. I love that show with the surprise reunions where the military person ends up surprising there family with their leave. A box of tissues doesn't cut it.

  • :,) makes me happy to know women out there really would do this for the love of their life...some women seem like they are in those military relationships for the benefits.
