my 1 year ols still breastfeeds at night only i tried to stop but he cried all night long and he drinks out of a bottle fine but doe not like regular milkand refuses the bottleat night what do i do?

  • He is using that to get to sleep. Try finding something else that will soothe him so he doesn't need to breastfeed. He doesnt need to eat at this point in the middle of the night (unless he is on the small side) Does he have a blanket, a paci or a stuffed animal that you can get him to self soothe instead of relying on you to get to sleep?

  • as far as transitioning him to milk, try doing it gradually. make the bottle 3/4 your milk and 1/4 regular milk (more or less depending on him) and gradually over time add more regular milk and less of your milk. this will be an easy transition and he wont even notice it

  • my son's the same way but he's 21 months old. I still let him nurse to sleep and 2 or 3 other times at night. we co-sleep so it's not that big of a deal but i would like to night waen him. google Dr. Jay he has some tips.
