Need opinions on where to live in or around atlanta.

Best place is Marietta, GA

I have lived in the Atlanta area my entire life, so I am very familiar with this territory!
How long of a commute to the airport is your husband willing to make? That will be a huge deciding factor for you guys. Generally speaking, there are more "upscale" and low-crime areas on the North side of Atlanta, Cobb and Cherokee counties. The southside (which is closer to the airport) is going to be a bit trickier and the school systems are not nearly as highly rated as most on the north end.
Do you have a real estate agent? A good agent who has worked in the Atlanta area for a long time is going to be key in helping you get into the kind of area you want.

Marietta has some super nice neighborhoods (mainly in the east/northeast side), but it's got some seriously rough parts too!

My best friend lives in Acworth, GA (near Marietta) and I absolutely love it there. It has a small town feeling but you are minutes away from the interstate and from Atlanta. She lives in walking distance to the beaches at Lake Allatoona and he son goes to a really great school in Cobb County.
