  • I think ALL the beaches up in that area are family friendly.
Im wondering what would make a beach NOT family friendly.

I only know of one nude beach and it is down in San Diego.

What exactly are you looking for in a beach?????

  • I would go to Santa Monica. Really any beach in So Cal is fine if you go during the day. Besides the beach, there are things to do there on the pier.

  • We had a horrible time finding parking. Most places we found charged 15-25 bucks to park. It's worth it to pay instead of driving around for hours trying to find a place on the street.

  • Huntington Beach isn't far from there, and it's the only one around there that we have been to. The kids had a great time there.

  • I have to agree with julie... huntington beach is a straight shot from dland. If you go to santa monica you will have to take a few different freeways and deal with all that LA traffic.

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG.... i KNOW THIS ONE!!!

I totally forgot about this... and it is SOooooo easy to get to from Dland.

Newport Dunes! Here is the web site... www.newportdunes.com
You can get directions from the freeway.... or if you are uncomfortable with CA freeways just go straight down harbour to pch.

I think it is $10 for the day with a car... for a bit more there are kayak rentals, play ground, floaties in the water, etc.
