Birth Control.......

Now we all use it but if your teenager comes to you and wants to have sex will you let her get it? lets say she's 14 through 17 or will you tell her No. Either way she came to you and she will do it any way so what to do?

Most women say if you give them BC then you are encouraging them to have sex, then some say if you don't then you don't care if they get a disease or not or can potentially get pregnant

How do you feel about it? what if were your daughter.....did your mother put you on BC?

  • I took myself to planned parenthood for birth control. I would hope that my daughter would come to me, but she knows where PP is located...

  • I only have boys, but I plan on buying them condoms when they ask. I would do the same for a girl, and the pill if she wanted it.

  • There are many forms of birth control. The first is to try to encourage abstinence. So in this case my daughter has said that without a doubt she is going to have sex with this boyfriend. If she is in the age group you define it does not matter whether I say yes or no anyway because she can go and get them on her own so it is a moot point.

In my case I was on BC to control or help to control a medical condition. My mother and father were not best pleased but we talked to our priest who said this is something you weigh out in this manner and I am glad you came to me. I was on BC by the time I was 14.

My daughter was hospitalized and we had been tracking what appeared to be a similar type of condition in my daughter. It surfaced at 19. She has been on BC since.
I no longer require BC for any purpose so it is a moot point.

Now would I have taken her so that she could obtain the BC on her own? Yes I would.

  • Birth control ALL the way.

People, if your kids don't WANT to have sex, birth control is not going to make them do it! lol

  • I only have a son, but yeah I would get a girl bc. I was on bc by the time I was 14 to control my periods since they were so out of whack, I still didn't have sex till I was 19. No, just having bc does not mean your child will have sex.

  • If my DD had the courage to tell me she was going to have sex and wanted my help getting birth control to stay safe I would get if for her. Why because if she is adult enough to come to me like that in order to be responsible for keeping herself safe then she is probably adult enough to have sex. Either way she is going to have sex whether I like it or not if she is already coming to me for birth control.

  • No. I think if you put a girl on the pill, there is a much greater chance that she won't insist a guy wear a condom, and the pill does NOT protect against STDs. I'm much more concerned about my child getting a potentially life threatening disease than I am about her getting pregnant. Would a teen pregnancy be ideal? No, of course not but it won't end her life.
I will encourage abstinence but if she decides to have sex, her bf will need to use condoms to protect against pregnancy and STDs.
