People with dogs i have question about how many times a year or how long a full set of shots last

Depends on the Vet some Vets do a 3year Rabies & Distemper some just do a 1 year with KCV it's recc to give twice a year if your pet boards or goes to doggy daycare a lot. And heartworm tests are yearly unless your pet is a outside more then inside. I hope this helps.

I'm going to get bashed all to hell for this, but I don't vaccinate my dogs. They are never, and I mean never, around other dogs. They've never been sick, and they are perfectly fine. If my dogs were frequently exposed to other dogs, like at a dog park or something like that, I would do it. But otherwise, I think it's totally unnecessary and even harmful.

Puppy shots are a couple times. I cant remember right off. Then it is once a year. A vet would be able to help you with this question.

No bashing from me JackieGirl! I do puppy shots, and unless there is a bad year for something I only do rabies, distemper, and parvo. Like you, my dogs aren't around other dogs. I use DE around them and in their food, and while they are tested, they are negative for parasites (including heartworm). I've seen too many cancers at the injection sites, and too many horrid (sometimes fatal) reactions to the poisons most vets try to get people to dump on them and in them (that is what wormers are ... poison ... read the label). Vaccines should NOT require a yearly booster. No one vacc's their children every year. Vaccines last much longer. The fact that any bite requires a prophylactic rabies shot tells me the shot itself is useless unless it's given after contact. I feed a raw diet, and at 13 and 15, my aged dogs (large breeds) still run and play, are bright eyed, have shiny soft fur ... they are healthy and fit.

It mainly depends on how long the rabies shots are good for. Here in my county they only give out 1 year shots, but in other counties in the state the shots can be good for up to 3 years. And as others have said puppy shots are more frequent then that.

All my animals get 3 year rabies because it's the law. The dogs get bordetella as needed because sometimes we have to board them otherwise I don't really vaccinate them.

If my dh would let me, I'd ONLY do the Rabies shot every 3 yrs and NOTHING else EVER after the puppy series (but he says if I want to have a dog, I have to do whatever the vet says). I've been doing research for a few years and realize that our pets are way overvaccinated! Most, if not ALL, vets KNOW that yearly shots are not neccessary...some are only in it for the money, but others just feel that if it weren't for people bringing their pets in for shots, they wouldn't bring them in for check-ups. Most of the shots have been found to give immunity for ATLEAST 7 yrs, if not LIFELONG, but they are still being tested. The ONLY vaccine required by LAW is Rabies since it is transmittable between people and animals and it is deadly.

Also, the one yr & three yr Rabies vaccine are exactly the same! They are just labelled/given according to the state and/or local law. So, please check with your county to see which one they require.

Depends on the vaccine and of course the vet. Some are three, some 6 months, but most are for a year.
