I gave you fleas.......are you serious???

so the people that live next door told my landlord that i gave them fleas......because if my dog, that they have fleas so bad that her children are being eaten up with them and she had to take them to the doctors
i have ONE dog and i also have one dd and we havent had any fleas here....
she has three dogs that stay outside most of the time and it has been rainy my dog is an inside dog for the most part so i wrote them a letter and notarized it what do you think?

i am truly sorry that you have encountered this flea problem but i can assure you that it is not our dog we have had no problem with them at all and as you know we have a four year old child and our house is kept very clean as well,we will put down powder so that our dog and house will not be affected by this......... Priscilla is a full blood Alaskan husky and registered she has all of her shots and gets cleaned once a week as well as dipped due to her shedding problem and we have never had any fleas with her at all.

as you know it has been very rainy lately and fleas breed in the dirt i see your dogs outside very often and this could have caused the problem

i would suggest getting your dogs dipped at pet-smart it costs around $35 and a weekly bath with DAWN DISH LIQUID dawn dish liquid will kill the fleas and eggs..

thank you for your concern with our dog i hope you are over this problem soon

here are some instructions for bathing your dogs with dawn dish soap

have a nice day

  • While in this situation it does not sound like your dogs are the culpret, I once worked with a lady who seriously did give me fleas. No joke. She had numerous animals, from dogs, cats, to goats, chickens, a horse, pigs. They were very dirty people. She would tell me stories how her son left the bedroom door open and the dogs (pit bulls) that stayed in the house killed a cat and left it on her bed. Anyways, we got a cat kitten from her (cause she had like three litters) and it was covered in fleas and had a respireatory infection so bad, the vet said if i hadnt brought it in when i did in a couple of days it propbably would have died. Anyways, i would notice soemtimes at work i would all of a sudden have bites on me. And it wold be shortly after she would have been around my desk. So i honestly believe in that instance, she gave me fleas.

  • Sounds like my old roomate lol. After we moved in, she complained she was getting eaten by fleas when she sat on the couch. She was the only one ever bitten. She blamed it on me because I moved in from my mom's house and my mom has a dog (who only ever goes outside to use the bathroom and has NEVER had a flea problem). I said maybe it's something else and she said no she is familiar with fleas because HER mom's house (at which she'd spent every weekend) is infested from their SIX OUTDOOR DOGS......but it's FOR SURE ME. Wtf. People just don't want to admit they have fleas!

  • It could be something other than fleas, so I would nix the letter and advise her to have the bites looked at by a pediatrician. If it is bedbugs, they can surely wander on over to your side of the duplex, so that would be my biggest concern. The kiddos could've also picked up scabies from a classmate or contaminated furniture. Could be bird mites, rats carrying a parasite, etc. I'd pray for fleas over any of those other pests! A good ole flea bomb every week for a month and some sevindust, and all is well. I would seriously reconsider sending the letter, and direct all of your concerns to the landlord.

  • I love the letter, however I would leave out the part about her dogs. Just leave it simple.

  • Yup but I would mention if she has fleas in her house she will need to treat everything inside as well.
